About the Job:
Ecosystem is seeking a Junior Engineer for the implementation of an energy efficiency project in Calgary. The Construction Project Engineer will actively contribute to oversee the entire construction process to ensure that the project is carried out according to design, budget and schedule parameters. He will also be responsible for managing client relationships, as well as making construction-related decisions.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Scheduling the project in logical steps and budgeting the time required to meet deadlines;
- Implementing the Energy Conservation Measures based on the clients’ needs and financial parameters;
- Managing the procurement process (professionals, equipment, subcontractors);
- Preparing and submitting budget estimates, updating progress, and reviewing cost tracking reports;
- Managing client expectations and maintaining relationships;
- Performing daily site visits to assess compliance with design, drawings and specifications, and applicable codes and regulation;
- Organizing meetings, as required, with the client, subcontractors, and internal resources to resolve issues and ensure smooth project implementation;
- Monitoring project performance to ensure that anticipated energy savings are attained;
- Responsible for the Health and Safety on construction sites.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience in construction management
- HVAC knowledge
- Strong analytical capability and problem-solving oriented
- Solid planning and organizational skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Work Conditions:
- Position work on a temporary basis, 6-month term
- 40-hour week (must be available to work evenings)

Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
